This 4 inch cap for king keg allows you to connect a Ball lock connector connected to a CO2 regulator. This means you can inject only the amount of CO2 you want to inject.
You will need a regulator and a ball lock valve as detailed below and shown in the pictures.
The 4 inch cap fits on King Keg barrels and is a direct replacement for caps with the brass Hambleton Bard Valve or Pin Valve.
With a standard pin valve, you inject the whole 8g CO2 cartridge, which means you can waste a lot of gas. With a regulator, you can control how much gas you inject and even keep a constant pressure in the barrel.
Hambleton Bard S30 / Brewgas L30 cylinders are now difficult to get hold of, and if you find a shop selling them, you need to return your old cylinder and then pay for postage for the new one. This means this is now very expensive form of CO2 for homebrew.
If you have a regulator, do not exceed 12psi on the co2 pressure injection.
The PRV is rated at 1kg / 14psi.
The CO2 regulator & ball lock and 16g CO2 gas cartridges are available to but at Brewbitz by following these links.
The mini CO2 regulator, the CO2 Injector and the grey ball lock connector on the barrel in the images are for illustrative purposes only and are not included with the cap and are sold separately using the links above.
